Go-Global for Windows

Everything is possible with Go-Global

Case Study - RG Stone

Hospital Industry

Go-Global helped RG Stone with easy to access centrally-runnuing hospital management system and Tally ERP from a variety local and remote client devices

Customer Profile

RG Stone Urology and Laparoscopy Hospital was founded in 1986. The state-of-the-art medical institute is headquartered in Delhi, India, and operates 16 urology and laparoscopy facilities throughout India. For over 25 years, RG Stone Urology and Laparoscopy Hospital has been providing advanced, non-invasive kidney stone treatment for patients throughout India and from around the globe.

Business Challenge

The hospital needed a cost-effective, server-based computing solution that would support Windows-based Hospital Management System (HMS) and Tally for easy access by local and remote users work in heterogeneous LAN/WAN environment. Basically, RG Stone hospital was facing a challenge while accessing non-web based application like Hospital management System (HMS) and Tally ERP through 16 centers across India. The hospital wanted to eliminate the need to run applications and update data from many different locations.

RG Stone initially evaluated Citrix and Microsoft Windows Terminal Services (WTS), but found these products to be highly complex and expensive, and therefore a poor fit for their requirements. They had heard that GO-Global was very easy to deploy and use, so their IT staff performed a simple proof-of-concept to test the viability of the solution. GO-Global quickly proved itself to be an easy-to-manage application publishing solution that is both economical and results oriented.

Adapt Solution

Pertaining to the need, RG Hospital observed two possible solutions, one was to build a new web based HRM application and to buy a Web based Tally ERP, which indeed was an expensive option for them. Therefore, the customer decided to deploy Graphon’s Go Global for Windows software to implement an efficient and cost-effective server-centric computing solution providing easy access to centrally-running hospital management system and Tally ERP from a variety of local and remote client devices. We are the exclusive distributor of Go Global in India, therefore, we helped them to implement this solution in a best manner without single change in existing applications.

In Remote Access solution, generally applications run on a secure central computer (the Host), making them available to local, remote and mobile devices (the Clients) running just about any platform and operating system, including iPad, iPhone, and Android. The host-resident applications appear on the client devices just as though they were running locally.

Go-Global an Efficient Solution

Used across the globe by 125 concurrent users, GO-Global® for Windows delivers Windows applications and documents to users anywhere, regardless of connection, location, platform, or OS. This fast and secure solution leverages investment in Windows applications while significantly lowering TCO.

GO-Global for Windows makes it easy to create a secure, private cloud environment. Windows applications are instantly “published” over LANs, WANs, VPNs, and/or the Internet for easy remote access, while retaining all features and branding.

GO-Global eliminates the need to rewrite Windows applications for the Web. And it’s much easier and cost-effective to deploy than its complex alternatives. GO-Global for Windows Host software runs on a central Windows computer along with the applications being published, thereby providing multi-user access to the applications.

GO-Global Clients run on each remote device, enabling access to the central applications. GO-Global desktop clients run natively on Windows, Linux, UNIX, and Mac OS X computers. GO-Global mobile clients run on mobile devices such as Apple iPads, iPhones, and Android-powered tablets. GO-Global browser clients run within Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, and Apple Safari.

A Cost-saving Alternative

GO-Global also proved to be an economical solution. While Citrix is based on per-seat licensing, GO-Global licensing is based on concurrent usage. This approach reduced the overall cost of ownership for the hospital. Today, RG Stone’s SQL-based hospital management applications reside on a centralized Intel Xeon server running Windows Server 2012. Client devices throughout the hospital’s many locations include laptop and desktop PCs running a range of operating systems including Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 8 , Smart devices ( Android Tab ) / Phone , iPad and iPhone.

Go Global proved to be Fastest and More Secure Access solution

Unlike other solutions, GO-Global utilizes the patented RXP protocol that is faster and offers better data compression. Rather than transmitting screen bitmaps over the network, RXP transfers individual drawing commands. This greatly improves overall throughput and performance. GO-Global transmissions are fully encrypted using Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology. Hospital applications and mission-critical data remain secure on the central server. Only the application’s user interface is transmitted to local and remote client devices. “GO-Global has provided us with all of the security features that we were looking for without being complex,” said Mr. Jainendra, RG Stone’s IT Head. “The solution is quite fast and implementation time was very quick.” The bottom line benefits for the hospital include lower cost of ownership, improved performance and productivity, easier administration, improved security, and increased user satisfaction.
